Sonista was a place to change horses on the road along the Drava from Poetovio to Mursa, at Kunovec Breg in Croatia; older research looked for it at Rasinja. A Roman register of routes spells it Sinista, the pilgrim from Bordeaux Sunista. The map sets Sonista nine Roman miles, about thirteen kilometres, from Botivo and twelve from Piretis.
