Road station

Sirpium

beim jetzigen Cerelo oder Morcone [7]

Listen to the story

Sirpium was a station on the road that ran up the valley of the Tammaro from Beneventum towards Saepinum, perhaps near Morcone or Circello in the hills of Samnium. Apart from this map, only the list of places compiled in Ravenna names it, and its only other echo may be a man called Serpicanus in an inscription from nearby Saepinum.
