Persida

Listen to the story

Persida, Persia, is written across the eastern part of the Tabula in conspicuously large letters, as the name of a whole region rather than a road station. The large lettering probably points to the New Persian empire of the Sasanian kings, who rose to power in AD 226 and became Rome's great rival in the east. The name has no drawing attached to it.
