Palestina

Listen to the story

Palestina names the land along the coast of the eastern Mediterranean, the region that today lies in Israel and the Palestinian territories. The name goes back to the Philistines of the coastal plain, and it was in use from Hellenistic times through the Roman period into late antiquity. On the Tabula it stands in the part of the map given over to Syria, Palestine and Arabia.
