Road station
Numituriana
Ain Tine
Listen to the story
Numituriana, now Ain Tine in Algeria, lay on the main road of Roman Africa from Carthage inland to Sitifis, where it skirted a mountain massif between Cirta, now Constantine, and Milev, now Mila, and crossed a deep river valley. The map puts it six Roman miles from Milev, though a milestone found here counts only four, and gives no figure at all to the next station, Aquartille.
