Road station

Hermomacum

Bermerain

Hermomacvm, perhaps more correctly Hermoniacum, was a road station in the land of the Nervii, on the road from Cambrai to Bavay in the north of France, most likely at Bermerain. Older research also suggested Le Cateau-Cambrésis and Escarmain. The station is known only from this map, and the figure of forty on the stretch from Cambrai is one of the map's slips: eleven would fit.
