Foro Flamini

S. Giovanni Profiamma, near Foligno

Listen to the story

Foro Flamini, the market of Flaminius, was founded by the builder of the Via Flaminia and lay near Foligno, where the church of San Giovanni Profiamma still echoes its name. In 253 AD the emperors Gallus and Volusianus were murdered here by their own mutinous soldiers. On the map the road on to Mevania has no line at all, which would leave Spoleto as a dead end.
