Foro Domitii

Montbazin

Foro Domitii, the market of Domitius, was a station on the Via Domitia, the great road from Italy to Spain, between Saint-Thibéry and Sextantio near Montpellier. It is known only from the road lists: the pilgrim from Bordeaux changed horses here, and the silver cups from Vicarello name it too. Its site is uncertain; it is placed at Montbazin, while older research preferred Frontignan. The map gives eighteen miles from Cessero and fifteen, about twenty-two kilometres, onward. The end of the name is very faint.
