Road station
Condate
(near Seyssel) (Barrington)
The map's Condate stands between Etanna and Geneva, with thirty to Geneva, and older research noted that up to this point the figures count Roman miles. The station lay near Seyssel, where the Fier flows into the Rhône, and that suits the name, which is Celtic for a confluence. One older view preferred Chanaz, where the Lac du Bourget drains into the Rhône, another meeting of waters. Inscriptions found at Seyssel show the Roman settlement.
