Cognac?

On the road from Saintes to Périgueux, in the land of the Santones, the map marks a station called Condate, placed with some doubt at Cognac. The map gives no distance from Saintes, and the ten it gives onward to Sarrum is too small: at least twenty-two would be needed, unless a station has dropped out. A milestone found at Chadenac shows twenty-four, apparently counted from Saintes. The name, shared with several other places on the map, is Celtic and means a meeting of waters.
