Capraria

Hr. Bu Atfân (Miller) · (near Hippo Regius) (Barrington)

Listen to the story

Capraria, the place of the goats, was a station in Numidia seven Roman miles from Thibilis, now Announa in Algeria, and twelve from Tipasa, perhaps at the ruins of Henchir Bou Atfane, where inscriptions have been found. Saint Augustine, bishop of Hippo not far away, may mention it in one of his sermons.
