Caprasia

Tarsi?

Listen to the story

Caprasia, Caprasis in a Roman register of routes, is usually placed at Tarsia in the Crati valley of Calabria, though nothing has been found there to confirm it. Another proposal looks further west, near Malvito, where excavators uncovered baths of the first century AD built over older granaries, perhaps part of a roadside inn. A place called Ciparsia near Interamnium may even preserve the old name.
