Butrio

Sant’ Alberto [Pleiades]

Listen to the story

Butrium, a small town belonging to Ravenna, lay near Sant'Alberto on the edge of the modern lagoons of Comacchio, and the Roman writer Pliny counts it among the towns of the Umbrians. A list of the emperor's guardsmen in Rome names a soldier from Butrium. Despite the similar name, it has nothing to do with Budrio near Bologna.
