Belginum is the Roman village at Wederath near Morbach in the Hunsrück in Germany, on the road from Trier to Mainz. Its cemetery is remarkable: burials there run without a break from the fourth century BC to the fourth century AD, although the village itself only began in the first century. Near Hinzerath the villagers of Belginum set up a dedication to the horse goddess Epona, with their own official, a quaestor, in charge. After the troubles of 275 the village lived on into the fourth century thanks to its place on the road. On the map the distance from Neumagen is oddly written as two tens on two stretches.
