Bedaio

Seebruck (Barrington) · zw. Seebruch und Chieming (Miller)

Listen to the story

Bedaium, at Seebruck on the Chiemsee in Upper Bavaria, shares its name with a local Celtic god, Bedaius, who is honoured on altars from the lake shore alongside Jupiter. A milestone found here gives thirty-two Roman miles, about forty-seven kilometres, to Iuvavum, now Salzburg, exactly the distance the map adds up to on this road.
