Aulnay
Avedonnaco is Aulnay in Saintonge, in the land of the Pictones, on the road from Saintes to Poitiers. The Roman register of routes calls it Aunedonnacum, and a medieval form is Audenacum. Three roads meet here on the map, and the start of the road to Brigiosum is marked only by the fork itself. The branch towards Limoges has no distance figure at all, and older research reckoned that about thirty leagues and at least one station are missing there. A milestone has also been found at Aulnay.
