Road station
Arciade

Listen to the story
Arciade, which the list of places compiled in Ravenna calls Arciadis, is usually placed at Bagnara Calabra on the steep coast of Calabria, though nothing certain has been found there. It may be the same stop that a Roman register of routes calls Ad Mallias. The map adds its own puzzle: the next station is a bath house drawn without a name, probably Columna Regia by the strait, and the two distances of twelve Roman miles on either side may be one figure copied twice.
