Aobia
Ain Hedja
Listen to the story
Aobia is Agbia, at Ain Hedja near Dougga in Tunisia, a town that grew out of two communities side by side, a rural district and a native town, which by the time of Diocletian had merged into a single municipality. Its bishops are recorded in 258 and 649 AD. Nearby, milestones counting eighty-six, eighty-seven and eighty-nine Roman miles from Carthage have been found, the first of them about one hundred and twenty-seven kilometres from the city.
