Anxia

Anzi

Listen to the story

Anxia, now Anzi, in the mountains of Lucania, was a station on the road from Potentia to Grumentum. Many painted vases have come from its graves, and an inscription in the Oscan language written in Greek letters, yet not a single Latin inscription has been found. The map sets it fifteen Roman miles from Potentia and eighteen from Grumentum.
