Antigonia

Tremnik ? oder eher Negotino ?

Antigonia, a town named after one of the Macedonian kings called Antigonus, lay on the road from Stobi down the Vardar valley to Thessalonica, probably at Negotino in North Macedonia, where Polish and Macedonian archaeologists have been excavating the hill of Gradište; others suggest Tremnik. The Roman writer Pliny names Antigonea in the same breath as Stobi, and the list of places compiled in Ravenna garbles it as Asigonia.
