Annicia was probably the station by the river Angitola, near Pizzo in Calabria, which a Roman register of routes calls simply at the river Angitula; the river itself is not drawn on the map, only the stop beside its crossing. The list of places compiled in Ravenna shortens the name to Angila. The region is rich in Roman remains, yet this stretch of road is among the hardest to reconstruct, since the map and the register seem to describe two different routes.
