Urusa

Bei Paehl

Listen to the story

Urusa, a Celtic name known only from this map, lay at the southern end of the Ammersee in Upper Bavaria, near Paehl or Raisting, where the road from Augsburg to Partenkirchen crossed the road to Salzburg. The map puts it thirteen Roman miles from Abodiacum and twelve from Bratananium, but the second figure seems too short, as if a station had dropped out.
