Road station

Urbate

Srpac

Urbate was a station on the road along the Sava from Siscia to Sirmium, at Srbac in Bosnia, near where the river Urbas, the Vrbas, joins the Sava; the Roman writer Pliny calls that river Urpanus. On the map the figure of thirty-three miles on to Marsonia would have run into the river line, so it was set further along, on the next stretch, and written with a dot in the middle. From Servitium the map counts twenty-three Roman miles, though older research thought fourteen would be enough.
