Road station

(unnamed / illegible, no. 17) [Casae

Listen to the story

The second nameless station after Ad Dianam, in Numidia, stands ten Roman miles beyond the first and three before Lampsilii, though the stretch to Lampsilii has no starting mark. Older research tentatively called it Casae and placed it at the ruins of Henchir Madher, from where, as an inscription shows, a road led to Thamugadi, the Roman Timgad. But the ancient name of that site is unknown, and no other source records a station here.
