Templo Iovis, 'at the temple of Jupiter', the god of the thunderbolt and guardian of oaths, was a road station on the route from Mesembria towards Philippopolis, and the map draws a small house for it. It lies at Obzor on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. The Greeks knew the harbour as Naulochos, founded from Mesembria around the turn of the fourth and third centuries BC, and in Byzantine times it was called Kozeakos. Sixteen Roman miles separate it from Erite on one side and from Mesembria on the other.
