Templum Iovis?

Giglio

Listen to the story

Templum Iovis, the temple of Jupiter, is a name supplied by scholars: the map shows only a small house-shaped building with no label, on an island it calls the island of Jupiter. This is Giglio off the Tuscan coast, known to the Romans as Igilium, and a list of places compiled in Ravenna calls it Jobus. If the building ever had a name of its own, every trace of it has gone.
