Road station
Remista
Formin
Listen to the story
Remista was a station on the road from Poetovio, the Roman Ptuj, to Mursa, the Roman Osijek; the pilgrim from Bordeaux calls it Ramista, a place to change horses. It is placed at Formin in Slovenia, while older research looked for it at Babinec or Križovljan in Croatia, where inscriptions were found. The map sets Remista ten Roman miles from Poetovio, the pilgrim nine, and ten more lead on to Aqua Viva.
