Road station

Largiana

Românaş

Largiana is a Roman road station at Românași in Romania, fifteen Roman miles from Optatiana and seventeen from Cersiae, on the road towards Porolissum. An inscription from the area names a unit of soldiers from Osrhoene in northern Mesopotamia, serving far from home on this frontier, and a cavalryman on double pay from a large cavalry regiment. The list of places compiled in Ravenna calls it Lagiana and puts it in the wrong province, in Lower Moesia.
