Island

Insula Pyrodes

Listen to the story

Insula Pyrodes is an island set in the part of the map that covers Asia beyond the Euphrates, south of the Taurus mountains. Its name has faded badly on the parchment. Today only the ending can still be deciphered, while older copies read the whole name. The letters r, o and d are very indistinct, but a close inspection of the parchment itself has confirmed them.
