The Insula Poliaponenos belongs to the part of the map that covers Asia beyond the Euphrates and below the Taurus mountains. Its name is badly damaged: only a few letters can still be made out, and a tear in the parchment runs between two of them. Older copies read the name in full, and a list of places compiled in Ravenna records a very similar island name.
