Indenea

Mujdžići

Listen to the story

Indenea was a stop in the Roman province of Dalmatia, on the road from Salona on the Adriatic coast inland to Servitium, and this map is the only source that names it. It is usually placed at Mujdžići in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where remains of an ancient settlement and a late Roman cemetery with a fifth-century gravestone have been found, though a site nearby and older guesses further afield have also been proposed. The drawing is odd: its two little houses stand apart, joined by a red stroke at the gables, and a second hand seems to have begun turning it into a farmstead, then stopped after a single line.
