Hicaria is an island that has almost vanished from the Tabula. Only traces of its coastline drawing survive, and the name itself has faded. Older copies disagree about its letters, and none of their readings turns up in any ancient text. The Roman writer Pliny, however, lists an island called Nicasia, and the island on the map is probably the same place.
