River

Fl. N.N.

Listen to the story

Flumen, simply 'river', is all the catalogue can call this watercourse, because the copyist of around 1200 drew its line without writing any name beside it. It flows through the part of the map showing Asia beyond the Euphrates and below the Taurus mountains, a wavy stroke of water among the eastern roads, anonymous but faithfully kept from the Roman original.
