River

Fl. Crocodilon o. Fl. Chorseos

Nahr ez-Zarqa

Listen to the story

The Crocodilon or the Chorseos: scholars cannot decide which of the two this river on the map should be, since the copyist drew its course without any name. It reaches the sea between the stations of Thora and Caesarea, and is identified with the Nahr ez-Zarqa in Israel, once called the crocodile river. The geographer Ptolemy knew a river called Chorseos on this coast.
