River

Fl. Colapis

Kupa · Kolpa

Listen to the story

The river Colapis flows across the map without a name: the copyist of around 1200 drew its course beside Siscia, today's Sisak in Croatia, but left no label, so modern editors have supplied it. The river is the Kupa, which meets the Sava at Sisak. Ancient writers knew it well, among them the Greek geographer Strabo, the Roman writer Pliny and the historian Cassius Dio.
