Ezetium

Rutigliano [4 · Pleiades] · Castiello bei Rutigliano [3]

Listen to the story

Ezetium is Azetium, at Castiello near Rutigliano in Apulia, a town whose true name is known for certain only from its own bronze coins of the third century BC; on the map, in the list of places compiled in Ravenna and in the Roman writer Pliny it is garbled. A great ring wall of the fourth and third centuries BC survives, and graves from the sixth century BC to Roman imperial times. On the map the distance on to Norba is missing.
