Mountain

Alpes Iuliae 1] 1v3

Listen to the story

The first of three unlabelled pieces of the Julian Alps is drawn quite unlike the map's usual mountains: jagged ridges with brown outlines and red filling rise from a dark brown base, almost as if a forest were meant. From it springs the Frigidus, the Vipava in Slovenia, and the river's loop shows an erasure where it was corrected to point towards the pass station In Alpe Iulia.
