Road station

Ad Decimum

Ciampino [2]

Listen to the story

The name of this station on the Via Latina has not survived on the map, but the figure ten beside it, counted from Rome, together with a Roman register of routes, allows it to be restored as Ad Decimum, at the tenth milestone. It lay near Ciampino, where a lead water pipe was found stamped as the public property of the Decimienses, the people of this roadside settlement.
