Tazora

Baghin bei Kirman (Miller)

Listen to the story

Tazora stood where four roads met, and the map sets it apart from its neighbours with a pair of towers. Its name has been traced to the Old Persian word for a temple, which points to Maibud in central Iran, a crossroads town whose own name carries a similar meaning and where a fire temple stands. Older research struck two of its branch roads as copying errors; later research takes them seriously, since the next station, Cetrora, is Yazd, on the caravan route that ran between the salt deserts towards Gedrosia.
