Pannisso

Dubravino · Kalimah

Pannisso took its name from the river Panysus, today's Kamchia, and lay at its crossing near Kalimah, twelve miles, about eighteen kilometres, from Marcianopolis and as many again from Scatras. The Roman register of routes counts twenty-six miles from Marcianopolis to Scatris. A little to the south, at Gorni Čiflik, three fragments of imperial inscriptions have turned up, perhaps from a milestone. The Ravenna list writes the name Pannsion.
