Road station
Meldiis
Dragoman
Meldiis, the Roman Meldia, was a station with lodgings on the military road to Serdica, the Roman Sofia, at Dragoman in Bulgaria, near the pass where the road crossed the hills; older research placed it at Slivnitsa, where there are ruins and inscriptions. The map sets Meldiis twenty-four Roman miles from Turres and twenty-eight from Serdica, where a Roman register of routes counts twenty-four and the pilgrim from Bordeaux twenty-three.
