Marsonie
Slavonski Brod
Marsonie is Marsonia, today Slavonski Brod on the Sava in Croatia, a Roman fort and settlement on the road from Siscia to Sirmium. Near here the road divided, one branch running by Cibalae, the other on along the Sava. In late Roman times a unit called the ascarii was stationed at Marsonia. A Roman register of routes leaves it out and counts twenty-five miles straight from Urbate to Cirtisa, impossible without it. The map sets Marsonie thirty-three Roman miles from Urbate and twenty-five from Certis.
