Lycia

Listen to the story

Lycia was a coastal land of Asia Minor, in what is now Turkey, and in late Roman times a province in its own right. It belonged to the diocese of Asia, a larger administrative group of provinces, and the map is selective here: of that diocese's eight provinces, only five are named, namely Asia, Phrygia, Caria, Lycia and Rhodes.
