Road station

Ceramie

Varoš

Ceramie was a station on the road from Stobi to Heraclea, at Varoš just north of Prilep in North Macedonia, below the hill crowned by the fortress of King Marko; traces of a sizeable town have been found there, with a temple, an early Christian basilica and Roman graves. On the map the stage to Heraclea is only eleven miles, and a station seems to have dropped out, probably Stuberra, which, one view holds, the Goths and Heruli laid waste in 267 to 269.
