Road station
Carvone
wohl bei Arnheim (Miller) · Kesteren (Barrington)
Carvone is Carvo, a station on the road through the land of the Batavians from Leiden to Nijmegen, probably at Kesteren in the Netherlands, though its site has been argued over for centuries: older writers placed it at Grave, Rhenen, Buren, Wageningen, Arnhem and half a dozen other towns. The Roman register of routes names it too, twenty-two miles from Harenatium. The list of places compiled in Ravenna may garble it, together with its neighbour, into the strange form Coadufaveris.
