Biricianis

Weißenburg

Biricianis is Biriciana, today Weißenburg in Bavaria, where a cavalry regiment raised in Spain, the Ala Auriana, held a fort of more than five hectares. The civilian town beside it covered over thirty hectares, and its baths have been restored. In 1867 a soldier's discharge diploma of the year 107 was found here, and a splendid treasure buried in the third century has also come to light. On the map the station is squeezed in clumsily: its name stands above the distance figure, as if it had been added afterwards.
