Bersumno

near Titograd · Podgorica

Bersumno, the Birziminium of a Roman register of routes, was an old native settlement of the Docleates on the inland road to Scodra, near Podgorica in Montenegro, in the fertile Morača valley, where remains of a Roman aqueduct are known. Close by lay Doclea, the chief town of the Docleates, which tradition names as the birthplace of the emperor Diocletian. The list of places compiled in Ravenna places a Burzumini near Medione, today Medun.
