Mysucy

Mysucy is an early edition's reading of a name of which only the first letters and a final y survive on the map. The letters suggest Mysaris Akra, a cape that Ptolemy names, but older research preferred Myrmekion, a prosperous Greek town on the European side of the Cimmerian Bosporus, just four kilometres from Panticapaeum, though the visible letters hardly fit. The final y stands so far off that it may belong to another name. Myrmekion lived on wine, farming, fishing and the cloth trade, and is known for its puzzling ash hills, mounds of discarded objects that may have been a sacred dump.
