Blastarni
Bastarnae
Listen to the story
Blastarni is the map's name for the Bastarnae, a people whom Greek and Roman writers placed near the lower Danube and the Carpathian hills. The Tabula sets them in the wide lands of Scythia, with no drawing beside the name. The lettering is unusual too: where peoples are usually written in red, this name stands in black.
