Insula, simply the Latin for island, is all that can be said of this place, because its own name is lost. Above the drawn island only the merest trace of black ink survives, perhaps the first letters of a label. It belongs to the part of the map showing Asia beyond the Sea of Azov, and no modern location has been found for it.
